Scooters have a rear engine, and many things different from mopeds. In the next few years after 1984, for street bikes below 120cc, Honda only made scooters. Ordinary poor people could go places cheaply reliably and safely on a Honda. Honda revolutionized transportation worldwide with the C70 step-thru motorcycle, and set a Guiness World Record for the most motorcycles ever made of the same model.

So they were easy and well mannered compared with the roaring two strokes and bigger bikes.

They had foot shift 3-speed 4-stroke engines, but no manual clutch. Honda made many step-thru models that were like mopeds. The US motorcycle laws were not favorable to pedal-assist mopeds (motorized bicycles) until 1976. The 4-stroke P50 and PC50 mopeds were only sold one or two years each, and are not as common in the US as they were in Canada and Europe. The two-stroke Honda PA50 moped is made in Belgium, and is covered in the Honda Benelux section. Honda dealers sold were the P50, PC50, and PA50. Pure off road and 3 or 4-wheeled models are also excluded. These are condensed from the Honda Identification Guide 1959-2000. The PA50 was produced by Honda Benelux from 1976 to ’91. The successor to the PC50 four-stroke 1-speed moped was the PA50 two-stroke variable speed, with way more take off and hill climbing power. Honda Benelux also produced the PF50 and PS50 families. See the Wikipedia Honda P50, and Wikipedia Honda PC50 articles. They made the PC50 moped from 1969 to 77. Honda Benelux mopeds: Honda Benelux produced the P50 pedal moped from 1966 to 68. Since the 1950’s Europe had a demand for pedal-assist mopeds. Around 1975, when parts were also produced in Netherlands and Luxemburg, the name changed from Honda Belgium to Honda Benelux (for Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg). Honda Belgium: Honda expanded it’s production into Belgium in the mid 1960’s, after the successful Honda 50 Cub sold well worldwide. 4) Honda-Belgium compatible parts from other European made mopeds. 3) Honda-Japan compatible parts from Taiwan-made Honda remake mopeds. 1) aftermarket parts like brake shoes, spokes, tires, tubes, batteries, bulbs, petcocks, bearings, seals, hardware, spark plugs, etc, 2) some original used Honda parts from a few stripped out used bikes, mostly NC50. Myrons carries Honda parts from four sources. So the small shops that sold parts for European mopeds never did have genuine Honda parts in their inventories. Honda mopeds and the parts for them were only sold through Honda motorcycle dealerships. Most Honda Parts for sale are in the Parts by Type menu. There is more info here than parts for sale.
